07721 431543

In July I bought a car from someone on eBay. Turns out he was a trader but that was cool, he had a few cars for sale on there and had good feedback. I saw a car I liked and made him an offer, he accepted. I went up to Wolverhampton to see the guy, he met me at the railway station and he took me out in the car.

I never knew his real name but he called himself “Ken” and his number is 07721 431543.

The first warning I should have picked up on was when I wanted to try out the air conditioning. I pressed the button, air came out but it wasn’t cold. More like normal lukewarm temperature. I mentioned to Ken that it wasn’t working but he put his hand over the vent and said “Yes! It’s working fine!”

That was a bare faced lie. It wasn’t usual air con temperature but I figured it just needed re-gassing and I didn’t mind getting that sorted. But the cheek of him thinking he could get me to believe it WAS working was pretty insulting.

Anyway as long as it had cruise control I didn’t mind and that was listed in the eBay advert.

I paid by bank transfer and when you do that the banks check to make sure the name on the account matches with who they tell you they are. Ken told me the company name was “V L Cars” in Wolverhampton even through the car lot didn’t have any business name on it at all.

Anyway he gave me the car manual wallet (“It comes with service history” he told me) and I set off home.

On the way back I then realised it didn’t have cruise control. At the services on the way home I also realised the car was a year older than what he advertised it as.

So he sold me this car saying it had cruise control (it didn’t) and with it being older than what he told me.

I wanted him to give me some money back seeing as it wasn’t the age or spec I paid for.

All he told me was “Oh sorry, I must have copy and pasted the wrong advert”. No money offered, just that crap. A few days later I had it checked over and the air con needed some major repairs. I told him that too and in his defence he said he’d pay for the air con repair.

I then found out the handbook he gave me was for an entirely different car and the service history was t for mine, it was for this other car.

At this point I couldn’t be bothered any more and left him negative feedback on eBay.

I arranged an appointment at the garage for the air con and called “Ken” to confirm that he’d pay for the repair.

He told me he wasn’t going to because of the feedback I’d left him - which I was completely in my rights to do seeing as his listing was misleading and he made no effort to put things right.

I even said if he pays for the repairs I’d change the feedback but after that he ignored my calls and texts.

So now I’m posting this. “Ken” from V L Cars in Wolverhampton WV2 2AW is well dodgy. Do not buy anything from him and avoid at all costs.
